This morning a colleague dropped off a box full of body lotion and soap, which I asked her for less than 24 hours ago. I needed these hygiene products but when I stopped to think about where I'd shop, suddenly Amazon and Target gave me the ick. Not just because these retailers are comfortable pushing toxic products, or ripping off their suppliers, but because of their very public rollback of DE&I for their workforces. The order I placed arrived to my desk quickly (faster than Prime). Is packaged beautifully, and with the most darling note complete with a transparent ingredients list. The thing is - small business owners are everywhere (even at their other full time gigs). They are the backbone of our communities, and now is a great time to invest in them.
